| Wow...it has been a while since I have posted a blog...but I find this to be a very important reason for doing so...
I will be a participant in this humbling experience. Please come out and support the homeless of Santa Clara County by donating your cold weather clothing. If you cannot come out to help support the cause I ask that you Please pray for us tonight as we raise awareness to a ever present delema in our society that is often overlooked. I ask that you also pray for those in your community that do not have a roof over their head, or a blanket to keep them warm this winter. Thanks!
*******Press Release*******
On Saturday, December 17, 2005 approximately five youth and four adults from Almaden Valley Youth Ministry in San Jose, Calif. will be participating in an experience that will illustrate the plights and struggles of the homeless in the Silicon Valley by sleeping outside with nothing but the clothes on their backs and whatever they can find for shelter. This is the first time ever that Almaden Valley Youth Ministry will be participating in such an event. We have named this event Project Box.
During Project Box the participants will be allowed one blanket or sleeping bag to keep warm and are advised to wear only one layer of clothing, and no pillows will be permitted. The participants will only be able to eat food that is given to them, and they must eat it. A truck will be placed in the parking lot of the church to collect warm clothes and food to be given to the Emergency Housing Consortium throughout the night.
If you have new or gently used coats, hats, scarves, blankets, or sleeping bags that you no longer need, along with non-perishable food items, please drop them off anytime between 7pm on Saturday, December 17th and 1pm on Sunday, December 18th at Holy Spirit Church, which is located at 1200 Redmond Avenue, San Jose, Calif. Please help us to bring a little comfort to those on the streets who have no home this winter.
Thank you and God Bless.

| SO, you know how I said that I was going to be good and update this
more...well, that didn't happen...but I think what I am going to do
since I don't have very many friends on xanga.com is still post here,
but mainly post on myspace. That is my new hang out spot. I
know I know...I gave in, but when every one has it, it just makes life
a little bit easier...I am not giving up on xanga, and I will post
every so often...but I think it will be a good balace. Anyways, I
had an awesome friday night followed by a saturday and sunday that
progrssively went from good to absolutely horrible, and then a week to
follow that. If you want more details you are just going to have
to ask me. And depending on the mood I am in, you might want to
watch out because you will either get an angery ear full, a river of
tears, or who knows what. Anything can happen, and I have not hit
all of the grieving stages yet, although I think I am beginning to come
out of the depression and into the anger part. Maybe you want to give
it a week....anyways, I am out. see ya later.

| Well, I must say that after a day of disappointment in my baseball
teams, things finally paid off yesterday...The Giants won (although it
was only the Rockies, so they SHOULD beat them most of the time),
Boston won, and the Yankees lost! That is it for now....Today I
am having lunch with a friend, going to get fish for my brother, beer
tasting and dinner with another friend, and then maybe a movie with the
bro! Have a good one.

| the world must be ending...two posts in one day...what is
this...anyways, I just wanted to express my anger and disappointment in
my baseball teams. 1st off the Giants officially suck as they
lost to the Rockies, who are supposedly the worst team in the National
League and the second worse in Major League Baseball...now that is
sad...Ok, so Boston got rid of Mark Bellhorn and oh yeah, guess who he
got picked up by...that's right the only team I hate more than the
Dodgers, the Damn Yankees...What a wonderfull day in baseball...At
least Boston won today, so it isn't 100% grimm...ok, I am
done...goodnight!

| Ok, so it has been a while since I have actually written anything
meaningful on here. I apologize for that, but what can I say, I
have been extremely busy. However, I have found that the more
time that I let go by on here the more I have to write to catch
up. So it may take a while to actually get caught up. Oh
well...
MEXICO:
As you may know I spent a few days in Mexico about a month ago. I
will say that it was the most awesome trip I had ever been on, well,
one of the most awesome trips. Anyways, I went with a bunch of
people from a luthren church. It was a long ride down there, and
I know there is always traffic in LA, but to be stopped on the highway
for 3 hours on a Saturday for no reason is rediculous. The worst
part is that it only took an hour and a half to get through LA, but it
took like 5 hours to get to San Diego, and on top of that we were in a
van with 9 teenagers. So we finally got to mexico. We
stayed at an old orphange so the accomodations were better than most
people get when they go to mexico to build houses. We had beds,
and running water. Sunday we went to church and then went to
Rosarito Beach which is a major tourist attraction. We didn't
make it to the beach, but we did some shoping and ate at a restaurant
there. I had one of the best Margaritas ever. I will have
to say though that while I was in mexico I had some issues with my
friend that set my brother and I up with this whole trip. She
arranged everything and works at the church we went with, but once we
got to mexico she completely ignored us and I thought she came of as
thinking she was better than us, and the things she told us about the
trip when she went before turned out that she was making herself look
good. She said how much work she did and all these other things,
but it didn't seem like she did anything at all compared to everyone
else. Now, I will agree with one of my friends that this is not
the place to diss people, and I would hope that you don't think I am
doing that. I was just so pissed off at the fact that it was all
just a lie and she was being a hypocrit, and I really have very little
tolerance for that. Now, granted this was part of her job and
part of her job was the supervise the teenages that went, but come on,
at least tell the truth.
Anyways, the family that my group built the house for was awesome, it
was so inspiring. The couple had just gotten married, and their
house that they were living in was so tiny and was not equipped to
handel rain, so every winter they would end up with their house
flooded. So anyways, the man is deaf and mostly mute, and
everyday he would come out and help us with the house. And he
even lost his job because he was helping us. Now the really cool
thing about working with this guy is that we had a lot in common.
If you don't know I am hearing impaired. So it was really awesome
to communicate with him using both spanish and the basic signs I
knew. I was totally awesome and he was so greatful. Also,
his cousin would come to the work site too and she is also deafand
mute. She is 10 years old, and her grandma told me her story
saying that Aide went to school with normal little kids, and she always
got beat up and stuff because she was different and that she also
didn't have any friends. It was really sad, but this little girl
was so full of life and so fun to be around. When all the boys
were on the roof putting it on and stuff there wasn't much for us short
people and any one extra to do so I hung out with Aide. It was so
amazing. When the houses were done we did a ceremony at each
house and for each family. We gave each family some CDs, a cross
to hang in their new house, a bible and the keys. At the house I
worked on I got to give the bible. It was amazing because I also
got to read a passage from it (in spanish of course) and to hand it to
the guy that will be living there was one of the most awesome feelings
in the whole world. We gave his family the CDs since they would
be useless to him, and we gave the childrens bible story book to Aide
(we were going to bring it home with us for our trip next trip to use
during VBS, but decided that since Aide probably didn't have any books
or anything and since she spends alot of time by herself that we would
give her all of our left over materials from VBS). And finally
the handing of the keys. We thought that Julio was going to cry,
and he had tears in his eyes. He was so happy, and greatful for
the work that we had done and in giving him and his wife a home to have
a family in. This was such a humbling experience, and it had
given me a new picture of tijuana. I can't wait to go back next
year, I just loved it. After we packed up on the last day we
drove to LA to spend the night in a church there. The next
morning half of the people went home and the other half of us went to
disneyland. That was fun too, but we were so tired that I don't
think we enjoyed it as much as we could have. The drive back up
to San Jose was quick. We decided to leave really early because
we were all ready to be home. Only 6 hours later we made it which
was 6 hours shorter then it took us to get to San Diego/LA on the way
down. I was so glad to be home. Anyways, there will be
another story of my adventure to mexico after my trip next year.
I am going to make a it a goal to go every year possible that I can for
at least the next ten years at least. That is it for
now... next I will fill you in on my new job and the things that
happened over the past few weeks, and then my trip to colorado.
Then we should be all caught up!
